Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!   I am one of the few in the universe that ha ve not read all of the Harry Potter novels. B efore you shake an accusatory finger at me, let me preface by saying that I have read and reviewed The Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets . My goa l in 2019 is read the remaining books in the series, as well as t he play. This will be done in conjunction with my career as a Medical Assistant, as I will be reading to a patient of mine with Alzheimer's . I believe that continuing to read is important to all stages of Alzheimer's, by keeping the brain active and creating a calming environment .        Now hurry . F ind your spell books, pack your robes, and get ready for a trip on the Knight Bus as Harry Pot ter and company head into a mystery that will change Harry's life forever.   Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is J.K. Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons !   To many Harry P otter was their childhood; a n amazing series of magical books that captured the imagination. I was not a child when the series was released , but ne vertheless I have loved the Harry Potter franchise through film and merchan dis ing. Beginning in 2016 I decided to read the Harry Potter Series for the first time and I was not sure what to expect. The movies were amazing and I have watched them numerous times. I am one to always say that a book is better than the film, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone proved that to me. As wonderful as the movie is , the original sour ce material was definitely filled with more adventure . I have wanted to cont inue reading the series, and now I have finished book two.   Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is written by J.K. Rowling, and is published by Arthur A. Levine books, an imprint of Scholastic Books. Harry Potter is back at 4 Priv et Drive...

Book Review: Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich

Image
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,     Stephanie Plum is back and the forecast is calling for 100% Spooky with a chance of monkey business!   Plum Spooky is written by Janet Evanovich and is published by St. Martins Press. This "Between the Plums" novel takes place after the events of Fearless Fourteen, and s erves as the official lead-in to the Lizzie and Diesel series .   This time around Stephanie Plum is on the hunt for Martin Munch, a genius who decided to one day beat up his lab's project manager, Eugene Scanlon, and steal expensive scientific equipment. Munch decided not to divulge the whereabouts of the equipment, and Stephanie's cousin Vinnie (who posted the bond) is beside himself (as usual) with the case since Munch has disappeared. Add to this the arrival (and first appearance) of Gerw ulf Grimoire. Wulf is tall, dark, and likes to snap necks, while burning his hand imprint into his victim's flesh. Definitely not nor...

Book Review: Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton

Image
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,   I was fortunate enough last year to pick up the first three books in the Wicked Series by Janet Evanovich at a book fair in Newtown, Connecticut. As many of you already know it was a crazy day for my roommate and I, and we came away from the fair with almost one hundred books. I recently wanted to break up my reading by introducing this series into my TBR pile. I found myself addicted to this series and read all three within a month's time. I have reviewed books one and two, and now it is time to tell you all what I thought of book three, Wicked Charms.     Wicked Charms is written by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton, and is distributed by Bantam Books. This time around we are given the opportunity to hear how famed screenwriter (Cheers, Newsradio, and Boston Legal to name a few), Phoef Sutton, interprets these much- loved characters. The result is an amazing collaboration with Evanovich that heightens the danger, s...

Book Review: Wicked Appetite by Janet Evanovich

Hello, Fellow Book Worms,   Janet Evanovich has always been able to entertain me with her Stephanie Plum stories. But little did I know that she also has a new series based in Salem, Massachusetts featuring magical characters. Enter the Wicked Series. I was on the hunt at a local book fair last Fall, and I stumbled upon (literally, there was a book on the floor) a table of mystery books. There, among the hundreds of volumes, sat Wicked Appetite, Wicked Business, and Wicked Charms. Charms I had saw at the book store on their New Releases shelf, making this a huge score for only one dollar each. The series sat on my shelf for four months until last week when I was choosing my February TBR (to be read) picks. I started with the first book in the series, Wicked Appetite.   Wicked Appetite is published by St. Martin's Press, and is a departure from Evanovich's usual mystery or romance fair. While using those elements to fuel the base of this story, the spotlight is on ma...
