It is a fun and active group to be a part of.    This week's question is: Do you have any buzz words that determine what books you buy or do not buy ?     I am the ty p e of reader that loves buzz words. Ha ha, who am I kidding, I choose books with pretty covers, as well. The buzz words that I look for in a book are: First-time author (I love the feeling of discovering new a uthors) N ew series ( a new series from a favorite author is filled with possibilities. If I have enjoyed a past series from an author , then I will definitely buy the first book of a new series) New York Times Best-Selling (yes, guilty as charged. It is a fun and active group to be a part of.    This week's question is: What would be your favorite fictional world to live in?   This is an easy question for me to answer. I would love to live in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. I understand that I can do this anytime at Universal Studios, but to really live at Hogwarts and shop Diagon Alley would be amazing. I love the eccentric and colorful characters of the Harry Potter series. It would be a joy to shop in the various store s, especially Honeydukes. I can imagine myself working at Hogwarts, and attending the scrump tious feats of teh grand hall. This would be an amazing way to live. Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,   Have you picked up any of the new DC Comics Rebirth titles this wee k? Did you read DC Universe Rebirth? I did , and I wanted to share my DC Comics story, and my thoughts on DC 's Rebirth.    It was September of the late 1970s, and I was at a local convenient store with my mother. She asked me to pick out some comics that we could read together later in the day. I was six years old, and had been reading comics for a few years. I loved my super heroes, especially Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman (which I never missed on television). It seemed that heroes were everywhere from bubble bath to tooth paste to hair brushes. I had posters up in my room, Mego action dolls, and I had a 45 RPM record of the Batman theme song by Neal Hefti (Na na na na, Batman!).     DC Comics was my main place for adventure growing up, and it was not until in 1978 that I was introduced to the Batman Family.    Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,   I have asked myself this question many times, answering it with fond memories.  What impact did books have on me as a kid?   I began to read when I was very young. It started with comic books that my parents purchased for me every week. I would pour over the pictures and try to decipher the word balloons on my own. I was purchased Little Golden Books, books based on comic book characters, and the occasional workbook. My mother was an avid reader that loaded our home with bookcases filled with books. As I began to read more, I was given my own shelf and that made me very happy.  One of my favorite book covers as a kid   It was not until the early 1980s that I discovered Beverly Cleary, Lois Lowry, John Bellairs, and Judy Blume. These Yearling and Scholastic books were purchased in bulk from Waldenbooks (remember that place?) by my mother, as I entered into solo reading. My kid brain...
