September Wrap-Up and October TBR

Image
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!     October has always been an epic month for me . It is a month filled with coz ying up to some scary reads, geeking out at New Yor k Comic Con, and watching the leaves change into gorgeo us colors.   September was a spectacular month for books, with many four and five star reads. I was blessed with a fun month that included an amazing trip to Connecticut HorrorFest, the beginnings of Autumn decorating, and my first Pumpkin Lattes of the season .    I am hoping that Octo ber is as eventful reading as September was. I may have strayed drastically from my original TBR, but I loved every minute of it.       Here is my final list of books that I read in September (any reviews are highlighted with links): A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena Close to Home by Robert Dugoni Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben I See You by Clare Mackintosh Star Trek: the Next Generation- Hive by Brannon Braga, Terry Matalas, and Travis Fi

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!     Many readers love a book so much that a re-read is always in order. For me that includes Harry Potter, the Outsiders, and the Exorcist. Picking up a book that you have already e njoyed and diving in agai n can be a puzzle to some. Why on Earth would someone read a book again? For me I do this because of nostal gia and often I wish to see how a book holds up as I get older. With Autumn beginning in a few hours it i s time to start my Halloween reading. A nd what better way to celebrate the spooky time of the year than with a scary read.      The Exorcist is written by William Peter Blatty, and it published by Harper Publishing. It tells the story of young Regan MacNeil, an eleven year old girl seemingly as ordinary as any girl her age. Artistic, cheerful, and still sleeping with stuffed animals, Regan (or Rags, as her mother Chris calls her) looks as if she could do no harm to anyone. Her mother is a movie star filmin

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,     It's that time again, Xepherus Reads 10 Favorite Characters of 2018 so far!    I have read so many amazing books in the year of 2018. And when I review a book, sometimes I feel that they need another shout out as to how much they affected my reading. Often they feature characters that are entertaining and stay with me long after the book has ended. I have also included links to my reviews in each description . In alphabetical order: Alice Vega- This bounty hunter did not take no for an answer when she was hired to find two missing girls in Two Girls Down . Her courageous and often brash approach to her work was a wonderful companion to the novel's other main character, retired cop Max Caplin. Alice never gave up on finding the Brandt girls, even sustaining a head injury while taking down one of the kidnappers. Brought to life by writer Louisa Luna, Alice remains stuck in my mind.    D.D.
