Tuesday Talks: Comic Book Series That Are on Your TBR

Image
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!   Tuesday Talks is an wonderful group on Goodreads that is a weekly discussion forum created by BookTubers Janie Johnson and her pal, Janelle. It is a fun and active group to be a part of.  Unfortunately this group's weekly topic ended in 2017. I would like to carry on this tradition by offering topics of my own, as well as past topics that I did not answer.      This week's question is: What comics books are on your TBR?     I have been gathering a series of graphic novels and comics that I cannot wait to read. Here is my TBR for comics and graphic novels: 1.     Elektra, Vol I: Always Bet on Red 2.   Monstress, Vol I 3.   Poe Dameron, Vol I: Black Squadron  4.   Poe Dameron, Vol II: Gathering Storm 5.   Poe Dameron, Vol III: Legend Lost 6.   Poe Dameron, Vol IV: Legend Found 7.    Star Wars, Vol VII: Ashes of Jedha 8...

Book Reviews and Tagging an Author on Social Media

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons !   To read and review a book can sometimes be a daunting task. This is especially the case when a book you have read is so good that you find it hard to read the next book. Quite often you also wish to tell an author how much you loved their work. To do this I will always tag an author when linking my review on Twitter. This in return has authors writing to me thanking me when they have read my review, or liking my link to acknowledge my Tweet.    While at BookCon this past weekend I engaged in a conversation with a reviewer who was recently asked by an author not to tag them in their review. This was upsetting to the reviewer since she loved the book, and wished for the author to know how much that she enjoyed it. After this encounter the reviewer said that ...

Elsewhere in t he New 52 Universe, the tales of one woman's journey away from the super hero game began kicking and screaming. And the broken memories of the former Teen Titans were triggered when a deadly fo e from the past returned. Highlighted areas denote my review links. Black Canary: Songs for Broken Gods and Superwomen       You don't become a mem ber of Barabara Gordon's super-group for nothin g. Former Bird of Prey Dinah Lance had gone through quite a lot in a short perio d of time. It all culminated to a fight with Batgirl, and the loss of all of her crime fighting equipment in a major fire. Confronting Gordon and helping her with removing a danger ous AI from the world (Batgirl #35-40), Dinah part ed ways amicably from her former team mate. In a daring twelve issue series of her own by writer, Bren...

Consolidating My Universe

Image
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!   The duties of having three blogs and a full time job can sometimes be a bit daunting. As a way of still connecting with my readers I have decided to continue my adventures in the world of reading and pop culture within this blog. Since everything that I love about pop culture emanated from reading the source material they are based on, it is only fitting to bundle them up here.        I have also decided that many of my popular posts  from my other blogs should live on here. As an avid comic book reader, toy collector, and toy customizer I have many subjects that I would love to share with all of you. I will be featuring comic book segments and reviews here beginning with my reviews of the new DC Universe Rebirth initiative currently running in their titles. I am happy for this newest chapter in Xepherus Reads, and I welcome you to share in my love for all things pop culture.    ...
