Book Review: The Crooked Staircase by Dean Koontz

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!   Jane Hawk was introduced to me in the novella the Bone Farm . From there I went on to read the Silent Corner and the Whispering Room . I became that reader that needed to keep going with this series, because I knew that they would keep getting better and better. This adventure-espionage series has taken me on a roller coaster ride that I am not too eager to step off of.      The Crooked Staircase is the third full-length Jane Hawk novel by Dean Koontz. It is published by Bantam Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House. As we careen off the cliff of the second book's revelations, Jane Hawk is on the trail of Booth Hendrickson, another Techno Arcadian hell bent on controlling the country. Through injections the Arcadians have devised a control mechanism that takes over its host once the self-assembling technology forms a web over the victim's brain. Through key words the adjusted person is at their mercy to commit suicid

Book Review: Never Tell by Lisa Gardner

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!  Let me be honest and say that this is one of my most anticipated novels of this year. After reading almost every novel Lisa Gardner has written, I knew that another Flora Dane and D.D. Warren story would make my year. But I had no idea that Gardner would add another favorite character to the mix, making this one of her best works to date. I loved it so much that I read it in a day.   Never Tell is Lisa Gardner's tenth full-length Detective D.D. Warren novel. It is published by Dutton Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House. In this exciting crime thriller we are introduced to Evie Carter, a pregnant math teacher who is seemingly in a loving relationship with her husband, Conrad. One evening she is late coming home and worries of an altercation with Conrad. But what she finds is her husband dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. She is dumbstruck by what she sees, but what she views on his laptop terrifies her. She grab

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!   Back in the 1990s I purchased a VHS cassette of the movie Pet Sematary. I cannot count how many times I saw the film back then. It was a big part of my life , especially since I loved Stephen King 's novels. And when I met Denise Cros by some years later at a Star Trek convention, my conversation was more abou t Pet Sematary than the U.S.S. Enterprise . But oddly enough I had never picked up the novel and read it. With the current film offering fast approaching I decided to buy a copy of the book and finally see what the original source material had to offer me.    Pet Sematary is written by Stephen King, and is published by Pocket Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster. B ased on King's own exper ience living near a road with monstrous trucks barreling down its expanse , this 1983 classic fright fest has cap tured the imagination of horror fans world-wide. The story revolves around the Creed family, Lo uis and Rac
