My Favorites of 2017: Conventions

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons !   T o say that 2017 was an uneventful year would be lying . During this tumultuous year I was shouldered with the responsibility that all of are left with: to make my year the best it could be. I promised myself travel, pop culture conventions, visiting family, seeing more films, and of course, reading more. I do believe that I succeeded in creating a great year. Here are some of my highlights in no particular order: Conventions (4): I went with some awesome friends and met many amazing people. BookCon : In June I attended BookCon with a friend that I have had since junio r high scho ol of which I share a wonderful love of books. We met on day o ne of the convention and left with dozens of arcs . It was a fun and crazy day filled with freebies, great food, and a New York City adventure that left us tired and triumphant. Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons !   Tuesday Talks is an wonderful group on Goodreads that is a weekly discussion forum created by BookTubers Janie Johnson and her pal, Janelle. It is a fun and active group to be a part of.    This week's question is: How Did You Do with Your 2017 Reading Goals?     20 1 7 has been a rough year for reading for me. There has been a lot of change in my life , the country, and the world. I have found myself gravitating towards readin g the daily newspap er rather than a work of fiction. But there were some things that I wanted to accomplish and I have accomplished them.  Here are my reading and bookish goals and how I did with them : Read at least 25 books this year- as of this writing I have managed to add 30 books to my Goodreads Challenge.  Read books that I normally do not read- this year I found myself reading different genres , as well as children's books.
