Tuesday Talks : Dear Non-Reader

Image
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,    Tuesday Talks is an awesome group on Goodreads that is a weekly discussion forum created by BookTubers Janie Johnson and her pal, Janelle. It is a fun and active group in the book community to be a part of.   This week's question is: What would your Dear Non-Reader letter be ?           Here is my letter:      D ear N on-Reader,   Sometimes life as we know it can be hard. Sometimes it can be stressful . But one thing that we all can agree upon is that we love movies. You spend hundreds of dollars yearly to see th e latest blockbuster. It takes you away for a couple of hours and eases what could be a hectic or sad life. After the film you feel exhilarated and alive. You tell others what a great story it was , and that you cannot wait for a sequel.   But what you do not understand is that this awesome movie that you are raving about was originally the first book in a series of books. Instead of waiting three years for

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!     Many of us have been readers for many years. Some of us just recently discovered reading.  I mainly buy previously owned books, but I also love to visit my local book shops and show my support. Whatever reason you may have a book in your hand, think of one thing before you read: what is the history of this book?   THE OLD:   For me buying books has always been an adventure mainly because I rarely buy a new book. I travel to thrifts stores,  flea markets, and book fairs to acquire my reads. I find it a fun challenge to pick up books that I have been wanting to read for a while at a low price. And most book fairs and thrift stores support a charity and the community, which makes your purchase more meaningful.  I have recently discovered new books that were released in 2015 at my local Goodwill. But what I like to see is the history of a book. I love a book that has writing on the inside, whether it be a signed edition or a person

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!   May was definitely a weird month for me to read. Blame it on retrograde, blame it on life, or blame it on binge watching television. But this month was not a good month for finishing books for me. But a new month is on the horizon and Summer time is close. S ince I do not have a new review planned for this week , I decided to take it easy this holiday weekend and focus on reading. All regular postings will resume on Monday morning, starting with next week's Comics P ull List.   With that being said, let's see how I did this month.   Books Read and Reviewed:     Alien: Out of t he Shadows by Tim Lebbon This Time Together by Carol Burnett  Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher *****************************************************      Yes, that is all the books that I read this month. It is a little disappointing, but I am okay with this. A lot of times readers are unhappy with their met g oals, and that a
