Plum Saturdays: Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,
Plum Lucky is by Janet Evanovich and is published by St. Martins Press. It is set after the events of Lean, Mean Thirteen, and takes us for one crazy ride. Stephanie Plum's Grandma Mazur finds a bag of money, and all hell breaks loose when the owner tries to steal it back from her. Feeling that her luck is changing Grandma Mazur buys an RV, brings along Randy Briggs, and heads to conquer the slots at Daffy's Casino. But hot on her trail are Stephanie and the bag's owner. Along for the ride are Connie Rosolli, Lula, and magic man Diesel from the Lizzie and Diesel series. There is kidnapping, rocket launchers, explosions, and lots of oxygen tanks and scooters to keep them all busy.
This short novel was a great way to end my reading slump. It was zany, adventurous, and checked off all the boxes of an excellent Stephanie Plum novel. I loved the addition of Diesel. His involvement gave a little bit of magic to the story. Lula and Connie shined in this installment and I was not at all surprised they added a great deal of comedy. The finale delivered a great payoff. And I left this story smiling from ear to ear.
I read this in part with Lorelei King's narration. A long-time Evanovich narrator, King had each character vividly portrayed, and her use of voices made this reading experience fantastic.
Plum Lucky delivered page after page of fun and adventure. I gave this book four out of five stars. If you want a laugh-out-loud read that is filled with danger and mystery, this is perfect.
