Tuesday Talks: What Are Your Favorite Love Stories and/or Couples?

Hello, Fellow Book Worms,

I have been enjoying the Goodreads group Tuesday Talks a lot lately. This awesome group created by Youtubers and book fanatics, Janie Johnson and her book pal, Janelle, always brings our community together. I suggest you check it out on Goodreads. Every Tuesday is a discussion is held asking a new question.

This week's question is: What Are Your Favorite Love Stories and/or Couples? Here are my top three.

  1. Ciena Ree and Thane Kyrell- Disney-Lucasfilm's new Star Wars canon has introduced some amazing characters. But in last year's Lost Stars by Claudia Gray we were introduced to a tragic love story in the form of two Imperial recruits who are divided when one of them defects to the Rebellion. Ciena and Thane will go down in Star Wars history as two of the most determined lovers in the galaxy. Often heartbreaking, their story spans through the original trilogies and after. This made for an epic novel that had me reading into the night.
  2. Father Ralph de Bricassart and Meghann Cleary- Forbidden love is the premise of Colleen McCollough's Thorn Birds. Written in 1977, this story spans over decades as the inhabitants and visitors of Drogheda in the Australian Outback become embroiled in scandal and forbidden desires. Father de Bricassart meets a pre-adolescent Meggy and a decade later becomes entwined in a secret romance with her that defies the church and society. I plan to re-read this this year, since it's been two decades since I read the novel.
  3. Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara- How can any question like this not be answered without including this famous couple? Rhett and Scarlett battled through wars to be together in this historical fiction classic. In Margaret Mitchell's 1936 novel that spans the American Civil War, we are introduced to Scarlet O'Hara. She is a rule-breaker that defies her family and society, determined to be her own woman. Rhett Butler is her match, defiant as she with a charm that she cannot resist. This is a long read, but definitely worth the time! Even a second read is worth the time. Classic romance and an epic tale!

There you are, my favorite literary romances. I absolutely loved reading these books, and following these epic romances.

  Happy Valentines Day, everyone!

Because there is always time to read,
