Nostalgia Base- Galaxy Files: Princess Leia Organa (Possible Spoilers)
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,
Princess Leia Organa. No matter what medium you are aware of her from, she has been a household name for over forty years. This Galactic Senator from Alderaan paved the way for the downfall of the Empire. Over a decade later she delayed the First Order's arrival by six years by destroying their base on Sibensko. She is the twin sister of Jedi Knight, Luke Skywalker; wife to Han Solo; and mother to the Ben Solo, who became the malevolent Kylo Ren of the First Order. She never backs down and is one step ahead of her enemies. Her stare can silence a Wookie. And her compassion for her people always leads her to victory.
Now, using the current canon books and various media, it is time for me to share with you what I have discovered about the galaxy's most famous princess. Regardless of whether you may agree or not, this analysis is meant to be a fun way to speculate and celebrate one of Star Wars' most endearing characters. I will revise this analysis as I read more canon material.
Spoilers ahead for the Rise of Skywalker. I will also denote when I have included speculation.
Have fun!

Real Name: Leia Organa
Species: Human
Affiliation: Imperial Senate, New Republic Senate, the Rebellion, the Resistance
Birthplace: Polis Massa two days after Empire Day
Known Residences (excluding Rebels bases): Alderaan, Chandrilla, and Hosnian Prime
Parents: (Birth) Padme Amidala Naberrie and Anakin Skywalker (Adopted) Bail and Breha Organa
Spouse: Han Solo. Their marriage survived for many years until their son, Ben, turned to the Dark Side of the Force. In Bloodline by Claudia Gray they are apart from one another, but still in contact. As of the Force Awakens, they were separated and barely in contact with one another.
Child: Ben Solo, named after Jedi Master, Ben "Obi-Wan" Kenobi. Ben was a Jedi turned dark with the help of Emperor Palpatine through the Sith Lord's creation, Supreme Leader Snoke. Ben felt betrayed by Luke Skywalker and after the destruction of Luke's Jedi Temple, he fled to Snoke. Later Ben was also informed that his grandfather was Darth Vader at the same time the galaxy did when Leia's parentage was revealed during a live Senate meeting on Hosnian Prime. He never forgave his parents for not telling him of Vader.
The Force: Force-sensitive, Leia uses her abilities to sense situations, shield herself from danger, and the levitation of herself and objects. This has often brought her one step ahead of her adversaries. On many occasions, prior to the Battle of Endor she had experienced strange abilities and visions of events that she had not been a part of. It was not until Luke revealed their parentage and their family's connection to the Force, that she understood. After the Battle of Endor Leia trained with Luke on the planet of Ajan Kloss, which had also become a secluded outpost. On the final night of her Jedi training, she saw a vision of the death of her son at the end of her Jedi path. She relinquished her lightsaber and chose to use the Force differently to save her son from succumbing to her vision of his future. Later she would often reach out to those around her to sense their moods. Using what she learned, she was able to boost morale and alleviate the fears of those under her command. When the Battle of Crait left Leia's Resistance depleted, she returned to Ajan Kloss to establish a new Resistance base. It was there that she took on the task of training Rey in the ways of the Jedi, taking on the role of Master. Regardless of Rey's connection to Emperor Palpatine, Leia believed in the goodness in the young Jedi. After the return of Emperor Palpatine was made known to the Resistance, Leia sensed her son fully embracing his dark side. During a battle on the wreckage of the second Death Star, Kylo Ren was about to kill Rey. Leia reached out through the Force to stop him from ending the last Jedi's life. The act saved Rey.
Skills: She is a brilliant politician, having served in three different senates in her life. She has extensive combat, weapons, and piloting skills that have made her a formidable adversary to the Empire and the First Order. She is compassionate and takes into consideration all aspects of those around her; friend or foe.
Weapons: Leia is an extremely strong-willed woman who will occasionally use a blaster, vehicle or starship's weapons for her defense. She even has done well with a lightsaber in the past. But her greatest weapon is her amazing perseverance and mind.

Moments in Time
The Rebellion- Leia began her career in the Imperial Senate in her teens. She traversed the galaxy in the name of Alderaan, learning of the Imperial occupations and what they did to the many planets under their boot. Along the way, she began to get caught up in the growing resistance to the Empire. She crossed paths with many in the Rebellion, even arranging for the theft of Hammerhead Corvette cruisers that would later aid in the Battle of Scarif. She frequently passed off information to Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla to help the Rebellion. Her involvement became dangerous at times, but her natural predilection towards the Rebels made her steadfast in her desire to keep the resistance of Palpatine's rule alive. This would serve her well over decades as she saw the Galactic Civil War end, knowing that sooner or later the Imperial Remnant may grow into something far worse than their predecessors.
The Planet Crait- Bail Organa made Leia aware of the planet Crait at a young age. While tracing flights to and from Calderos Imperial Station, she detected movement to a planet, named Crait. With aid from an Alderaanian pilot, she traveled to the salty planet. It was there that she came face to face with her father and learned of his involvement in the growing Rebellion against Emperor Palpatine. During the Galactic Civil War, she returned to Crait after the battle of Yavin to begin fitting the planet with defenses since the Rebellion needed a new base. But she and her crew were betrayed, facing the Imperial Scar Squadron. The salt storms on the planet made it impossible for a base. After facing Scar Squadron, the Rebellion ended up leaving behind what they had begun. This came in handy decades later when fleeing the First Order, who had decimated most of Leia's Resistance forces. Leia would return to Crait to use the abandoned base's equipment to fend off the First Order’s pursuit, and send out a message to remaining loyalists to the Resistance.
The Liberation of Wobani- Years before Wobani was associated with being an Imperial prison work camp, it was lush and green. As the Emperor began to decimate worlds for their natural resources, Wobani began a slow and miserable change that led to its people starving. While on a "diplomatic mission", a young Leia traveled to the Imperial-held world aboard the Tantive IV with Captain Antilles. Seeing that the people of the world were suffering, Leia began to craft a plan to remove at least one hundred citizens from Wobani to be relocated to Alderaan. It appeared that the citizens of the planet had been forbidden by the Empire to leave their world. This did not stop Leia's plan, which included "hiring" citizens as part of her crew. On her way to Alderaan with her new employees, she noticed that the Imperial station Calderos had been savagely attacked. It was then she realized that there had begun a rebellion against the Empire, and it had power behind it. But Leia's triumph was short-lived when Queen Breha informed her that Bail had begun negotiations to liberate Wobani. This plan would now be halted by the Imperials after Leia's actions.
The Moon of Onoam- Leia traveled throughout the galaxy on humanitarian missions. This was an ideal way to survey the Empire's rule and adjust her missions to better help certain worlds. But the mining situation on the Naboo moon of Onoam was getting precarious. The miners were not being treated fairly by Palpatine's soldiers and officials. Leia learned that most likely the supplies she planned to give the miners would somehow end up missing. The popular opinion was that Imperial officials were stealing and then selling provisions that have been granted the miners. This angered a young Leia. With Queen Dalne' of Naboo's help, Leia requested a meeting with Grand Moff Quarsh Panaka, who lived on Onoam. Panaka had been Queen Padme' Amidala's security forces captain during the time before the Clone Wars. Upon meeting Leia, Panaka began to suspect that she may be the late Amidala's daughter. This information would be of particular interest to Emperor Palpatine, and would be a very valuable commodity for Panaka to hold. But an explosion killed Panaka before he was able to report his findings. It was after this incident that Leia realized just how far the Rebellion would go in their fight against the Empire.
The Fleet at Paucris- Leia discovered her parents' involvement in the growing rebellion at age sixteen. She had discovered many facts of this resistance in her travels. But when she discovered funds being filtered to the planet Paucris, she decided it was time to see for herself what was there. What she discovered was a fleet of current and Clone Wars-era ships being repaired and fueled. The Rebellion fleet was growing larger. When Grand Moff Tarkin discovered that the Organas may be involved in a rebellion, he began to show interest in Leia. During a meeting with the junior legislator, he let slip the name Paucris as a world that would soon benefit from the Empire's forces. Leaving the meeting, Leia informed Mon Mothma and her mother that the Empire knew of Paucris. Since neither Mothma or Breha could get to the fleet in time, Leia was sent to warn her father and the Rebels. Calling in a favor with Chalhuddan leader, Occo Quentto, she managed to travel to Paucris with Amilyn Holdo to warn the fleet. She was in time but suffered a loss dear to her.

The Survival of Alderaan- after the Battle of Yavin IV, the Empire set a bounty on Leia’s head. Fearing that the Rebellion would lose her, General Dodonna asked her not to leave the company of Rebel forces. This was not an option for Leia after learning that the Empire was systematically hunting down survivors of Leia’s homeworld of Alderaan. With the help of Alderaanian Rebel pilot Evaan Verlaine, Leia left Yavin to begin the search for her people. Traveling to Naboo, Sullust, and Espirion, Leia began to find Alderaanian refugees. But a spy within the Empire was privy
The Bounty Hunter Boushh- after Han Solo was frozen in Carbonite by the Empire on Bespin's Cloud City, the Rebellion launched a rescue mission. Han was taken to Jabba the Hutt by the bounty hunter Boba Fett. The team needed a way to infiltrate the gangster’s Tatooine palace. With Chewbacca's help, Leia met with Maz Kanata on the planet Ord Mantell. Maz knew a way to disguise Leia, however, to do so she would need to meet the bounty hunter Boushh. Both Boushh and Leia were the same size, which made his armor the perfect disguise. After a firefight, Boushh was subdued and Leia donned his armor and prepared for Han's liberation.
The Battle of Naboo (Operation: Cinder)- after the Battle of Endor the Imperial Remnant still held the illusion that Emperor Palpatine was still alive. This was mainly due to propaganda and posthumous orders given via a robotic emissary. But what the remaining Imperial forces did not know was that the Emperor's plans were deadlier than they could have imagined. Meanwhile, Mon Mathma was eager to begin talks with Queen Sosha Soruna of Naboo. She felt that the Naboo government would serve the New Republic as well as they had the old. Sending Leia and Shara Bey to Naboo, Mothma was convinced that they would have a new ally. Leia's mission was cut short when Operation: Cinder was initiated above Naboo by Imperial Forces. Sending out hundreds of satellites into space, the Empire began to disrupt Naboo's weather with dangerous results. Queen Soruna joined Leia and Shara as they commandeered older Clone War-era fighters from Theed's hanger. As Leia entered the hanger she began to grow cold and felt the uncomfortable presence of Darth Maul echoing from the past. Still new to her link with the Force, Leia shrugged off the feeling. The battle is space above Naboo was joined by further Rebel forces led by Lando Calrissian that helped Leia and her team destroy the Imperial ships and satellites. Among the pilots of Danger Squadron were Imperial defectors, Del Meeko and Iden Versio. The Mon Calamari capital ship Restoration was able to destroy the main Star Destroyer.
The Battle of Theed, Naboo- After their last capital ship was destroyed, Imperial forces headed for the royal city of Theed with ground forces. A team of Rebels entered Theed and formed a protective front against the Empire. Leia headed a team to reinstate power relays across the city. Once fixed the relays would engage, an ion pulse that would render all Imperial machines and weapons useless. This was implemented by the Queen after the Clone Wars in case of an attack on the royal city. With Iden, Del and Danger Leader Shriv Suurgav, Leia managed to get the relays running. The ion pulse managed to shut down Imperial forces as it spread throughout the city.
Rise of the Resistance against the First Order- After the fall of the Empire, Leia and Admiral Ackbar were hesitant at Mon Mothma’s decision to de-militarize the New Republic. In secret the former Rebel leaders stockpiled supplies and ships in case the Imperial Remnant became another lethal foe. This proved to be a wise decision as the First Order began to emerge. She also kept locations such as Ajan Kloss a secret from the New Republic, carrying on the Alderaanian tradition of the planet's secrecy.
The Survival of the Resistance- during the Battle of Starkiller Base, the Resistance base on the planet of D'Qar was revealed to the First Order. After a short memorial for Han Solo and those lost in the Starkiller Base fight, Leia ordered D'Qar forces evacuated. She gathered Poe's team, Black Squadron, and sent them to the Outer Rim to engage possible allies in their fight. Squad leader for the mission was Temmin "Snap" Wexley, with Poe staying behind to distract the First Order while the evacuation continued. Snap's wife, Kare' Kun, Jessica Pava, and the Squamatan pilot, Suralinda Javos accompanied Snap on the mission. C-3PO's Intel revealed that the First Order was headed their way quickly and would arrive momentarily. As the evacuation was underway, Zay Meeko and Shriv Suurgav (the only surviving members of Inferno Squad) arrived in a stolen TIE Fighter with plans involving the First Order's latest weapon, the Dreadnaught. Sending over the plans to the superweapon, Zay and Shriv were ready to join the fight. Leia refused their help, instead of sending them to the Outer Rim to join the effort to secure new allies in the fight against the First Order. It was the hope of Leia that her teams dispatched to the Outer Rim will bring their quickly diminishing ranks a new hope.
