Top 5 Wednesday- Nostalgic Relationships

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!

Top 5 Wednesday is a Goodreads Book Club that meets weekly to answer questions presented.  Our moderators are YouTubers, Lainey (GingerReadsLainey) and Samantha (ThoughtsOnTomes). I enjoy how every week this group brings the book community together. Great fun!

This week's question asks: What are your Top 5 Relationships in novels that you have read in the past?

  1. Lennie Golden and Lucky Santangelo (the Lucky Santangelo series by Jackie Collins)- Wealthy brat Lucky Santangelo lived in the shadow of her infamous father, Gino. Wise guy Santangelo had no idea how to handle his wild child daughter. But as she gained his respect over the decades and mourned the loss of her brother with him, she became a legend of her own. Then Lennie Golden entered the picture. Funny and loving, this movie star/ writer stole her heart. Their marriage suffered much of the decades, but one thing is certain: they belonged together no matter what.
  2. Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley (the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling)- The two students of Hogwarts spent most of their years fending off their blossom interest in one another. But ultimately that would not be the final outcome. This unlikely pair are steadfast in their protection of one another. And you may say their relationship is quite magickal.
  3. Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara (Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell)- The fall of Atlanta during the Civil War fueled the fire in Scarlet O'Hara's heart as she fought to save her beloved home, Tara. But Rhett Butler was not having any of Scarlett's attitude and eventually they became a fiery duo that set the publishing industry on fire.
  4. Dinah Lance and Oliver Queen (The Green Arrow series by DC Comics)- When millionaire Oliver Queen decided to take up the mantle of the Green Arrow, he would never have guessed that fellow Justice Leaguer Black Canary would end up being an obsession of his. But after many incarnations of their love story gracing DC Comics for over seventy years, this couple has been through many hurdles. Not even Doctor Manhattan's plan to change the DC Universe could break their bond.
  5. Clark Kent and Lois Lane (the Superman series by DC Comics)- The Man of Steel met his match and it was not Kryptonite. Enter fearless army brat Lois Lane. Co-worker. Constant heckler. Love of his life. Lois has never been submissive to any man, even Clark when she felt she could write the story better. But after awkward dating and finally falling in love with one another, Clark revealed himself to Lois to be Superman. Keeping his secret, Lois went on to marry Clark and bear him a son, Jonathan. This comics couple will stand the test of time.
