Book Review: Takedown Twenty by Janet Evanovich

Image
Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!    Beginning in 1994, Janet Evanovich introduced millions of readers to Stephanie Plum. This klutzy, gutsy bounty hunter became an unlikely heroine bringing in some of New Jersey's most dangerous criminals for her cousin Vinny's Bail Bonds office. Of course she did have some help from a few friends. Ranger (a sexy ex-military man whose arsenal of gadgets and vehicles qualify him to be Batman), Joe Morelli (Stephanie's police detective boyfriend, whose patience for Stephanie's shenanigans borders on the saintly), Lula (an ex-prostitute with a sassy mouth, outrageous wardrobe, and the uncanny ability to always get her way), and Connie Rosolli (Bail Bonds office secretary with a scary knowledge of firearms, and the knack for getting you information faster than you can ask for it).    Put it all together and you have the recipe for a fun-filled series of novels that can often be impossible to put down. And this entr...

In Memory: William Peter Blatty

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons !   When an author dies a reader feels that some part of them also passes. Whether it is because the reader may never experience a new story or novel from their favorite author . Or because the author may have had a great impact on how they live their life. For many  it can be the memor y of cracking open that latest novel that may deliver to them a shiver of happy memories.   When I discovered today that William Peter Blatty had passed away at the age of 89. I sat for a moment and processed this information. The Exorcist will always be my all-time favorite novel. I have read this book four times in my life time, and had began an annual Halloween reading tradition in 2015.    What makes this novel a jewel in my reading crown is not that it is a scary novel, we all know that it is. It is due to the fact that it features characters so realistic and three-dimensional, that ever...

Image
Hello, Fellow Bookworms,    The best feeling a reader can have is finding that new and amazing book that takes them on new adventures. But sometimes when that cash register serves up the total, it is a feeling that can be unpleasant. What does a book reader do when the books are not affordable? I have a few options that have served me quite well over the years, as well as some new tricks I have discovered. In this article I will share with you great ways to save cash, and still get those books you desire.     1) The Library- This is a great first step in obtaining newer books that you wish to read. This option is great for the reader that does not wish to collect a series, but just read it. Most library catalogs are available online for you to search for titles. In many of the online catalogs you will have an option to request a title. That way when the book you wish to read is available you will be notified, and you can pick it up. You can check to s...

Use the 50 plus audio books from Audible...
