Thriller Review: One Last Kill (Tracy Crosswhite #10) by Robert Dugoni

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,

One Last Kill is the tenth novel in Robert Dugoni's Tracy Crosswhite series from Thomas and Mercer Publishers.

When the Route 99 serial killer was terrorizing the Seattle area, a task force run by Johnny Nolasco had few leads and the case went cold. After decades of silence from the killer, Detective Tracy Crosswhite has been tasked with solving the case. Paired with Nolasco, Tracy must put aside past differences to work with him.

As the case begins to come back into the light, Tracy and Nolasco must side-step bureaucracy and hidden truths to solve the crime. But a mistake made by their superior has set the killer off. Now, he's back to killing and Tracy and Nolasco may be his next targets.

One Last Kill brings together several storylines from past novels. With their aid, Dugoni expands the character growth of his cast to new levels. I loved the pace and care used to tell this installment. I was sure I was right about the identity of the Route 99 Killer and was proven wrong several times. The reveals were solid and the finale was tense. In the end I was very satisfied.

I read One Last Kill in part with the narration of Emily Sutton Smith. I have loved Smith's work on past Tracy Crosswhite novels. She embodies the detective and her personality with sincerity and heart. She also has the ability to change voices and accents instantly. Great work as always.

One Last Kill was a four-star read for me. It was exciting with a mystery with excellent twists. Robert Dugoni and Tracy Crosswhite never fail to deliver excellent thrillers.
