Top 5 Wednesday: Authors You'd Want To Meet at Book Expo America & Bookcon

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons!

Top 5 Wednesday is a awesome Goodreads Book Group run by moderators, Lainey (GingerReadsLainey) and Samantha (ThoughtsOnTomes). I enjoy how every week this group brings the book community together. Great fun!

This week's question asks: What are your Top 5
Authors You'd Want To Meet at Book Expo America & Bookcon

  1. Jackie Collins-  I would have loved to have met Jackie before her death. Her books were a great inspiration to me to read. And Lucky Santangelo was a beacon of strength for me when I was having tough times. I would have loved to tell her what a wonderful impact she had on my life. Here writings will be missed by me and millions of other readers. I just bought teh entire Lucky series again to enjoy these books once more.
  2. Janet Evanovich- I have grown to love reading her novels. Each one is written with humor, heart, and adventure. Whether it is a Stephanie Plum novel or a Lizzy Tucker novel, I can always pass five hours quickly reading her awesome characters. I look forward to her new series that starts with Curious Minds later this year. I always feel happy reading her books.
  3. Claudia Gray- Star Wars gained an amazing member of their canon round table when Lost Stars  was released last year. The story was epic, heartbreaking, and loaded with nostalgia. Her main characters, Cienna Ree and Thane Kyrell will go down in history as one of the greatest couples in a galaxy far, far away. I was to meet her last year at New York Comic Con, but I was not able to attend on that day. Maybe next this year. Until then I will be reading Bloodline.
  4. John Bellairs- Mr. Bellairs wrote some of my childhood's favorite reads with his Johnny Dixon series of spooky novels. Before R.L. Stine, John Bellairs was scaring unsuspecting children worldwide. When I was around eight years old, he wrote me a letter when I sent him a fan letter. It was typed on a postcard, and I treasured it for years after. He told me to keep reading and getting good grades, and maybe someday I may be a writer. How right he was. I wish I could have met him, but I did have correspondence with him, and that is something I will never forget.
  5. Tami Hoag- I have loved a good mystery, and Tami Hoag can sometimes weave a mystery so incredible that you cannot put her books down. Just recently she wrote a novel, Cold Cold Heart. In it a woman survives a serial killer and is traumatized with PTSd, as well as brain damage. In the end of the book, Hoag described her own past with brain damage. She delivered a valuable list of resources for those suffering with PTSD or brain damage. It is wonderful when an author can use their fame as a vehicle to help others. I have a great deal of respect for Tami Hoag. Bravo!

There you are, my Top 5 for this week. I look forward to reading everyon;es answers. Feel free to post your thoughts below about the authors mentioned here, or your picks.
