Summerween Book Tag- My Answers

Hello, Fellow Book Worms and Book Dragons,

It's my turn! Let's see what books I can use to complete my Summerween Book Tag. My review links are added to each choice.

  • Pumpkin Spice (a book that you loved curling up with)- Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson. I used an entire Sunday in bed with this book. Set during the Gold Rush in the 1800s, it is the story of a young woman with supernatural abilities she uses to find gold. It is a fantastic journey through history.
  • Ghoulish (a book villain that was so scary, you doubted they were human)- Mr. Dinchara from Lisa Gardner's Say Goodbye. A demented serial killer, Dinchara hangs his victims cocooned from trees. And he has a few hundred spiders as pets.
  • Bump in the Night (a book that had you scared of noises in the night)- The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. This one had me jumpy the first time I read it and it continues to creep me out. The spider walk scene alone gave me chills.
  • Creatures of the Night (a book featuring scary beasts)- NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. Charlie Manx and his legion of children vampires was terrifying.
  • This House for Sale (a book featuring a terrifying haunted house)- Burnt Offerings by Robert Morasco. This supernatural tale gives us the Allardyce Manor. This sentient house is filled with mind-bending chills that will leave you shocked by the book's finale.
  • Poor Unfortunate Souls (a book featuring a tragic character)- Quincy Carpenter survived a massacre at the hands of a serial killer. In Riley Sager's novel Final Girls, she is reunited with the terror when someone begins murdering final girls from various tragedies. Her new and quiet life is about to be destroyed if she doesn't fight once again for her life.
  • Final Destination (a book featuring the craziest death)- Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney features one of the most twisted and tragic deaths I have read about in a thriller. That's all I can say without ruining teh twist.
  • She Went Bad (a female character that turns from good to bad)- Forget Her Name by Jane Holland was not a favorite of mine. But it fits this category.
  • Underneath the Bed (a villain you would never want underneath your bed)- Rose the Hat from Stephen King's Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep. The decades-old vampire sucks teh life from those gifted with the Shining. She is evil incarnated and does not care who she kills. In my opinion, she is King's greatest villain.
  • Trick or Treat (a book that takes place on Halloween)- The Haunted Mask by R.L. Stine is a childhood favorite set during the Spooky Season. Even the TV adaptation is excellent. The story of a kid who wears a cursed mask is not only funny but scary, as well.
